How I Created a Quiz Lead Magnet in Less Than 1 Hour (And How You Can Too!)

Hey, friends! 🎉 Ever feel like creating a lead magnet for your business or course would take hours—if not days? I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way! In fact, I recently created an entire quiz lead magnet in under an hour, and I’m excited to walk you through my process. Quizzes aren’t just fun—they’re super engaging and personal. Think about it: who doesn’t enjoy finding out a little more about themselves? (I used to obsess over Buzzfeed quizzes back in the day. Haha!) When people take a quiz, they’re not just clicking through; they’re interested, engaged, and more likely to give you their contact information to see their results. So, if you want to grow your list with people who genuinely want what you’re offering, a quiz could be your new best friend.

Step 1: Choose an Irresistible Topic

The first step is choosing a quiz topic that speaks directly to your audience’s interests or needs. For example, as I’m a course creator, my quiz ideas were something along the lines of, “What Type of Course Should You Create?” or “What’s Blocking You From Launching Your Course?” Think about your audience’s biggest questions or pain points. A topic that makes them think, “Yes! I need to know this!” is exactly what you’re looking for.

Tip: Keep it simple and specific. A clear question draws people in faster than something too broad!

Step 2: Craft Fun, Insightful Questions

Once you’ve nailed your topic, it’s time to create questions that are engaging and give you helpful insights into your audience. Aim for 5-7 questions that touch on areas where you want to know more about their needs or preferences.

For example, in my quiz about course creation, my drafted questions include:

  • “What’s your biggest challenge with launching a course?”

  • “What’s your area of expertise?”

  • “How do you like to learn new skills?”

Keep your tone light and fun, like you’re having a casual conversation with them. And don’t worry if it’s not perfect—this is about building a connection, not a school test!

Tip: Give options that feel fun but are also easy for people to choose from, like “I know exactly what I want!” or “I’m a bit all over the place!”

Step 3: Create Personalized Results

Here’s where it all comes together! After your audience finishes the quiz, they’ll want to see personalized results that resonate with them. This is a fantastic opportunity to guide them towards your course, digital product, or service in a natural way. For instance, my quiz assessed which phase my audience was in so in every result, they got some personalized tips as well as suggestions on which DFY services of ours they should consider.

Each result should feel encouraging and helpful, while subtly pointing them to the next step. If they’re ready, you can even link directly to a free guide, a booking page, or a call to action for them to learn more!

Tip: Make the results a celebration! When people see that their result aligns with a step in your course or service, they’ll feel supported and excited to learn more.

Step 4: Connect Your Quiz to Your Email List

The magic of a quiz lead magnet lies in its ability to collect emails effortlessly. By connecting your quiz to your email platform, you can automatically gather leads and start nurturing them right away. Most quiz platforms make it super simple to integrate with email tools, so you can seamlessly capture the information and send them a follow-up with even more value.

Tip: Set up an automated email that gives them a warm welcome and offers extra tips or resources. This can be the start of a great relationship with potential clients or customers!
